Sui joins exclusive list of AWS-integrated blockchain
The Sui Foundation, an organization working to advance and adopt the Layer-1 blockchain of the same name, today announced that it has integrated Amazon Web Services’ (AWS) blockchain node runner into Sui, providing developers with a self-managed node deployment solution.
This integration enables Sui builders to easily set up and deploy Sui full nodes within the AWS environment, benefiting from the high availability, scalability, and reliability of AWS’ robust cloud infrastructure. AWS Blockchain Node Runners simplifies the process of running a blockchain node, enabling users to easily deploy, scale, manage, and monitor secure blockchain nodes. As of today, Navi, a leading liquidity protocol, has joined as a Node Runner user and will deploy a full node on Sui.
“AWS Blockchain Node Runners is designed to support builders at every stage of the application lifecycle, providing a blueprint for meeting their specific requirements, from enhanced security and compliance to ease of deployment and monitoring,” said Kathryn Van Nuys, global head of startup specialization at AWS. “We’re excited to deliver these and other capabilities to enable developers to deploy and manage Sui nodes on the AWS Cloud.”
Node Runners offers several key technical advantages for blockchain node deployments: It provides validated, best-practice deployment templates for scalable node operations across multiple regions. Multi-node deployment options across different Availability Zones ensure high availability. The deployment code is fully open-source and available on GitHub for users to review before deploying. Integrated with the AWS Well-Architected Framework, Node Runners helps organizations build a secure, high-performance, resilient, and efficient node infrastructure. Sui’s full nodes validate on-chain activities such as transactions, checkpoints, and epoch changes, and store stake and history to better serve client queries. By offloading query services from validator nodes, validators can focus on transaction processing and updating nodes when new transactions are completed.
Sui’s main liquidity, Navi, is one of the first users to work with Sui’s Node Runners, deploying its first node via the AWS service today.
As part of AWS and Sui Foundation’s efforts to support Sui builders, developers and startups using AWS Blockchain Node Runner or building on Sui are eligible to receive up to $5,000 in Activate Credits. The Sui Foundation is also participating in the AWS Web3 Provider Program, which provides Sui developers with access to tools, resources, content, and credits.
“Integrating AWS Node Runners into Sui is a crucial step forward in strengthening our blockchain infrastructure. Sui nodes are fundamental to the operation and accessibility of Sui. This integration with AWS not only gives developers even more tools to simplify node deployment, but also financial support for usage and development on AWS,” said Henrik Johansson, Global Community Head at Sui Foundation.
