Sui joins an exclusive list of AWS-integrated blockchains.
The Sui Foundation, an organization working to advance and adopt the Layer-1 blockchain of the same name, today announced that it has integrated Amazon Web Services’ (AWS) blockchain node runner into Sui, providing developers with a self-managed node deployment solution.
This integration enables Sui builders to easily set up and deploy Sui full nodes within the AWS environment, benefiting from the high availability, scalability, and reliability of AWS’ robust cloud infrastructure.
AWS Blockchain Node Runner simplifies the process of running blockchain nodes, enabling users to easily deploy, scale, manage, and monitor secure blockchain nodes.
Starting today, Navi, a leading liquidity protocol, will join as a node runner user and deploy a full node on Sui.
“AWS is excited to partner with AWS to bring the power of cloud to the cloud,” said Katherine Van Nuys, global head of specialty startups at AWS.
“AWS Blockchain Node Runner is designed to support builders at all stages of the application lifecycle, providing a blueprint to meet their specific requirements, from enhanced security and compliance to ease of deployment and monitoring.
“We’re excited to introduce these and other capabilities to enable developers to deploy and manage Sui Node on the AWS Cloud.”
Node Runner offers several key technical advantages in deploying blockchain nodes: It provides a validated, best-practice deployment template for scalable node operations across multiple regions.
Multi-node deployment options across different availability zones ensure high availability.
The deployment code is fully open source and available on GitHub, allowing users to review the code prior to deployment.
Node Runner is integrated with the AWS Well-Architected Framework to help organizations build a secure, high-performing, fault-tolerant, and efficient node infrastructure.
Sui full nodes verify on-chain activities such as transactions, checkpoints, and epoch changes, store stakes and history, and respond appropriately to client queries.
Offloading the query service from validator nodes allows validators to focus on transaction processing and updating nodes when new transactions are completed.
Sui’s primary liquidity, Navi, is one of the first users to work with Sui’s node runner, and as of today has deployed its first node via the AWS service.
As part of AWS and the Sui Foundation’s efforts to support Sui builders, developers and startups leveraging AWS Blockchain Node Runner or building on Sui will be eligible to receive up to $5,000 in “activation” credits.
The Sui Foundation is also participating in the AWS Web 3.0 Provider Program, which provides Sui developers with access to tools, resources, content, and credits.
Henrik Johansson, Global Community Head at the Sui Foundation said:
“Integrating AWS Node Runner into Sui is a crucial advancement in strengthening our blockchain infrastructure. Sui nodes are essential to the operation and accessibility of Sui.
“The integration with AWS not only gives developers more tools to simplify node deployment, but also financial support to develop with AWS.”
