The price of the PlayStation VR 2 headset was probably one of the biggest barriers to entry, but now you can pick up this amazing virtual reality system for the amazing price of $200. As part of PlayStation’s Back to School sale, the starting price of the PlayStation VR 2 headset has been reduced to $350, and you can get a bundle deal that includes Horizon Call of the Mountain for $400. These deals are already starting to sell out at some retailers, so if you’re interested, grab one before it’s gone.

While PlayStation VR 2 doesn’t have a wireless design like the Meta Quest 3 VR headset, it’s still one of the most powerful and comfortable VR devices on the market. Like the PS5 console, it combines an elegant design with a plug-and-play design that lets you play games straight out of the box. The Sense controller is also great, inheriting many of the haptic feedback features from the PlayStation DualSense controller to add even more immersion to your games.
Speaking of games, the PSVR 2’s library has been growing steadily since the headset launched early last year. While there aren’t a ton of exclusive titles, third-party games like Synapse, Pistol Whip, and Arizona Sunshine 2 run very smoothly on the headset.
“The technology powering this headset is state-of-the-art and a great match for the PlayStation 5, and the Sense controllers are designed specifically for gaming in the VR space,” Tamoor Hussain wrote in GameSpot’s PSVR 2 review. “PSVR 2 is undoubtedly a big step forward for PlayStation’s virtual reality ambitions and one of the best headsets on the market, but its price and current value proposition once again puts it in an awkward position in the ever-changing virtual reality landscape.”
The PSVR 2 headset isn’t a standalone device, so you’ll need a PS5 to pair it with. Luckily, the PS5 console is on sale right now, and you can buy a regular PS5 with disc drive for $449 or the PS5 Digital Edition for $399. And PC compatibility for PSVR 2 is coming in August, but you’ll need a special adapter to use it with PC. You can check out other deals from PlayStation’s Back to School sale below:
