On July 30, TXT (Tomorrow X Together) attracted a lot of attention by holding their first-ever VR concert, “HYPERFOCUS: TOMORROW X TOGETHER VR CONCERT,” at Megabox COEX in Gangnam, Seoul. The event introduced a groundbreaking way for fans to experience the group’s dynamic performances.
During the press conference, AmazeVR CEO Seungjun Lee and Director Hongchan Kim spoke, revealing that the concert will use ultra-realistic 12K resolution technology, enabled by 9K+ live-action filming, Unreal Engine-based VFX module, and AI Super Resolution. This innovative approach will allow fans to enjoy a concert experience that makes them feel like they are standing right next to the stage.
One of the most exciting features of HYPERFOCUS is “Guide Member Selection.” Viewers can choose to follow a specific member on a unique journey to find the Fragments of Light, adding a personal touch to their VR concert experience. This interactive element is a first for VR concerts and sets a new standard for fan engagement.
Lee Seung-jun was keen to branch out into K-pop given his previous experience collaborating with American artists. He praised TXT’s great performances and how fun it was to work with them. Director Kim Hong-chan echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the group’s professionalism and high energy levels throughout the filming process, despite their hectic schedule.
Expanding
Formed by Big Hit Entertainment, TXT debuted on March 4, 2019. The group quickly gained recognition with their debut EP, “The Dream Chapter: Star,” which topped various charts, including the Gaon Albums Chart and the Billboard World Albums Chart. Their single “Crown” also reached number one on the Billboard World Digital Songs Chart. TXT’s early success was marked by multiple awards, including Rookie of the Year and Best New Male Artist.
The VR concert will feature performances of popular songs such as “Deja Vu,” “Good Boy Gone Bad,” and “Sugar Rush Ride.” Director Kim highlighted memorable scenes such as Beomgyu’s rose flames and Yeonjun’s powerful kick in “Deja Vu,” emphasizing that these impressive images required meticulous preparation.
Although TXT members were not physically present at the press conference, they sent recorded messages expressing their excitement for the VR concert, sharing their enthusiasm for the new format and their deep connection with their fans, known as MOA.
“HYPERFOCUS” will premiere at Megabox COEX on July 31. Following its debut in Seoul, the VR concert will be performed in five major U.S. cities: Los Angeles, Buena Park, Houston, Chicago and New York. Plans for international distribution are also in place, marking another milestone in TXT’s global journey.
This VR concert highlights TXT’s commitment to innovation and eagerness to engage with fans around the world, further cementing their status as a top-tier K-pop group.
