PlayStation fans who are interested in virtual reality are in luck. Right now, Sony is not only launching a huge sale on PS5 games, but they’re also slashing the PSVR 2 to its lowest price ever. Right now, you can buy the PlayStation VR 2 for $349.99 at all major retailers. If you want the bundled games, the Horizon Call of the Mountain PSVR 2 bundle is on sale for $399.99, the biggest discount yet on both items. It also comes at a great time, as Sony will be adding PC compatibility with the PSVR 2 next month, meaning you’ll be able to play PC VR games on the headset starting August 7. Let’s take a look.

If you just want the hardware itself, you can buy this bundle that includes the headset, two PSVR 2 Sense controllers, and all the cables you need to play, which is a fantastic deal and $150 less than the price of the Meta Quest 3 (see it on Amazon).

There’s also a bundle available for sale that includes the PSVR2 hardware and flagship title Horizon Call of the Mountain, which costs $50 more than the non-bundle option (though I personally think it’s worth it – check out our Horizon Call of the Mountain review for more details).

In IGN’s PSVR 2 review, critic Gabriel Moss wrote:
“PlayStation VR2…” [is] It’s a quantum leap from the original PSVR in terms of ease of use, image quality, and immersion, so PlayStation owners who love VR should upgrade as soon as possible. The 4K HDR OLED screen and superior haptic sense controllers are the most obvious improvements, but the PS5’s wealth of quality-of-life improvements and sheer horsepower have established a new standard for how VR games should play and feel on a console. The downside is that, as with any new platform, the lineup will be thin at launch, so the lack of backward compatibility with original PSVR games will be a big issue, but this will improve as Sony and other developers roll out new games that take advantage of the unique features of the PSVR2.
If you want to try out the PSVR 2 headset on your PC, you can download the PSVR 2 Steam app now. You’ll need this app to prepare your PC for PSVR 2 and update your headset’s firmware so it works well with your computer. You’ll also need the PSVR 2 PC Adapter, which should be available in retail stores on August 7th. As of this writing, it’s not available for pre-order.
