Not long ago, it was thought that Sony’s VR headset for PlayStation, PSVR2, would support PC VR. Soon after, Sony officially announced that this was the case, and that the PSVR2 PC adapter would be released in August. Now, the PSVR2 app has appeared on Steam, giving us a glimpse of how PSVR2 will work with PC VR. The PSVR2 app is required if you want to set up and use your headset with Steam. It also helps keep your PSVR2 headset and controller firmware up to date. The app lists the release date as August 6th, one day before the PSVR2 PC adapter will be released.
The PSVR2 is a very capable VR headset, boasting sharp resolution, a high refresh rate, and an OLED display. However, many of the features that make this headset stand out among the competition are not available on PC VR. These features include:
HDR Eye Tracking and Gaze Tracking Foveated Rendering Haptic Feedback Adaptive Triggers

It’s a bit disappointing that many of the headset’s standout features aren’t available on PC, but this adapter is still a good choice for many people. It costs $59.99, but if you already own a PSVR2 headset, we think it’s a fair price.
Even if that weren’t the case, the PSVR2 is slightly more expensive than the Meta Quest 3. So if you’re not interested in a library of native games, the PSVR2 might be a better deal than the Meta headset, especially thanks to its OLED display.
The PSVR2 PC adapter will be available on August 7th, retailing for $59.99, and if Sony can somehow achieve PC VR support for the aforementioned features, the PSVR2 will be one of the best VR headsets on the market.
