Despite reports of lackluster sales, the PlayStation VR 2 virtual reality headset is a phenomenal piece of kit. The successor to Sony’s original PSVR is far more powerful than its predecessor, far easier to use and has a better control scheme. Games such as Horizon Call of the Mountain and Gran Turismo 7 really show off the machine’s graphical power, running at 120 frames per second and supporting 4K visuals with HDR technology. Perhaps the biggest drawback is always the price, and at £529.99 it’s a big investment, especially when you consider how much it costs to run a PS5. But luckily, UK retailer Argos is selling the PSVR 2 headset at a huge discount. As part of a heated deal, Argos has slashed the price of the PSVR 2 from £529.99 to just £349.99 – that’s an incredible saving of £180. Click the link below to take advantage of this fantastic deal.
This truly fantastic bargain is selling like hotcakes – in fact, Argos’ website currently lists it as a popular item, meaning it’s selling fast.
There’s probably never been a better time to buy a PSVR 2 headset: Not only is it the cheapest price ever, but Sony recently announced plans to make PlayStation VR 2 compatible with virtual reality games on PC.
All you’ll need is the PlayStation VR2 PC adaptor, which is due to be released in August this year for £49.99.
The PlayStation VR2 PC Adapter allows you to play Steam VR titles using your PlayStation VR headset.
This includes the fantastic Half-Life: Alyx as well as other big hits like Fallout 4 VR, War Thunder and the highly entertaining Bonelab.
According to Sony, PSVR 2 owners will need to purchase a separate “off-the-shelf DisplayPort cable,” specifically one that’s compatible with DisplayPort 1.4.
You’ll also need a PC capable of running virtual reality games via Steam.
Once you have all the items, setup is easy: connect your PlayStation VR2 to your PC using the PS VR2 PC Adapter and a DisplayPort 1.4 cable.
Next, you’ll need to download the PlayStation VR2 app and the SteamVR app, which will allow you to set up your PlayStation VR device with your PC, which includes setting up your play area and purchasing games.
As Sony points out, performance may vary depending on your setup and individual gaming requirements, so it’s worth researching thoroughly before buying.
It’s also worth noting that some of the PSVR 2’s unique features, like headset feedback, eye tracking, and adaptive triggers, won’t work with Steam VR games.
