UNDERDOGS, an urban sci-fi VR mech fighting game, is coming to Pico next month.
Released on Quest and Steam earlier this year, UNDERDOGS is the second VR game from One Hamsa (Racket: Nx). Set in the underground fighting arenas of 22nd century New Bracca, the physics-based fighting game uses arm-based movement and cartoony presentation to see two brothers make their way through a roguelike campaign.
Today’s news follows a range of post-launch updates since January, with One Hamsa previously outlining a planned roadmap. In addition to smaller changes such as “Wrecking Ball” and localisation updates, last month saw the introduction of the “Dangerous Streets” update, which included a new hail event, new passive items, and the addition of illustrations. Trading cards and points shop items were also added earlier this month.
Our UNDERDOGS for Quest review gave it high praise, calling it “the new benchmark for VR arena combat” and awarding it 4/5 stars.
UNDERDOGS is a fantastic experience from start to finish, but I wish it could have been even better. One Hamsa has delivered an arena fighter with strong presentation, engaging core gameplay and a progression system that makes it feel fresh and exciting at every level.
UNDERDOGS comes to Pico on September 5th and is available now on Quest and Steam.
