According to the survey, 94% of people find it difficult to recruit in specialist fields such as software-defined vehicles (SDV) and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Around 60-65% of companies’ talent requirements are for mid-career professionals with 3-7 years of experience.

“Rapid advancements in automotive technologies, including AI, SDV and cybersecurity, are reshaping the industry, and it is critical that our workforce evolves with these changes,” said Krishna Bandar, co-founder of Skill-Lync.
India’s automotive industry, the third largest in the world in 2022, is expected to be valued at $1 trillion by 2035. To effectively navigate and leverage this growth, it will require a workforce of engineers well-versed in emerging technologies such as electrification, ADAS, software-defined vehicles, and data analytics.
