Samsung Electronics is looking for innovative startups to grow together and lead the future.
Samsung Electronics announced that it will be accepting applications for startups for its “C Lab Outside” competition from August 22 to 14. Now in its seventh year, the competition will be held simultaneously in four regions – Seoul, Daegu, North Gyeongsang Province and Gwangju – to uncover promising startups from across the country.
The contest is looking for startups with outstanding capabilities in eight fields: AI, robotics, IoT devices, digital health, content and services, mobility, materials and parts, and ESG.
These sectors were selected based on global technology trends and potential areas of collaboration with Samsung Electronics.
Startups that are registered as corporations in South Korea and are at the Series B or lower investment stage can apply for the contest via the Samsung Electronics C Lab website.
Samsung Electronics has been operating C-Lab Outside since 2018, providing full support for the growth of selected startups, including providing business collaboration opportunities with Samsung Electronics and consulting on skills development and business competitiveness.
Samsung Electronics is actively providing business cooperation opportunities to the selected startups through business meetings with related business divisions and proof of concept (PoC).
Starting this year, Samsung Electronics has been collaborating with the Samsung Electronics Coexistence and Cooperation Academy to operate the “C-Lab External Consulting Program,” which provides more specialized consulting services.
The C-Lab external consulting program provides one-on-one consulting with employee experts from Win-Win Cooperation Academy in six areas, including software, organization, human resource management, and finance.
Samsung Human Resources Development Institute’s creative problem-solving consulting program, the CPS program, has been applied to startups at C Lab Outside. The program provides specialized consulting in areas such as customer experience, technology development, and business strategy development to help them achieve tangible business results.
In addition, startups selected for C Lab Outside will receive up to 100 million won in business support funds without the transfer of shares, dedicated work space, participation in domestic and international IT exhibitions such as CES, and free transfer and licensing of Samsung Electronics’ patents.
