The Web3 Foundation has awarded a Decentralized Futures Grant to Dot Play to boost Polkadot’s gaming division.
According to a statement on July 3, Dot Play is tasked with building a comprehensive platform for game developers using Polkadot’s advanced technology. The project will focus on fast-growing gaming genres by building essential integration tools and providing sustainable business support within the Polkadot ecosystem.
Dot Play will provide a gaming portal to onboard new developers and support a variety of initiatives, including sponsorship of the Indy 500 Polkadot car.
Additionally, Dot Play will provide technical integration to guide projects by evaluating Game Design Documents (GDDs), helping to develop blockchain solutions that seamlessly integrate with Polkadot’s technology.
The grant will also enable Dot Play to foster ecosystem tools and partnerships, including the development of SDKs for Unity and Unreal, as well as other game development tools that are important to Polkadot.
The Web3 Foundation emphasized that the grant will enable Dot Play to build a sustainable and vibrant gaming ecosystem within Polkadot, and the company is expected to evolve with community feedback and adapt to the latest gaming and blockchain trends.
Going forward, Dot Play plans to seek additional funding and partnerships to support more gaming projects.
