Data analytics software company Sumo Logic Inc. today announced Sumo Logic Flex Licensing, a new log analytics pricing plan that offers unlimited ingestion of log data at no charge, enabling developers, security and operations teams to collect and analyze critical data across their enterprise.
The company says the new pricing model removes typical cost barriers to analytics, enabling customers to make the most of their growing volumes of data to make data-driven decisions and accelerate innovation without losing visibility.
Sumo Logic claims that as data continues to grow exponentially, massive amounts of structured and unstructured data, including siloed information, create security visibility gaps and increase data storage and governance costs. Data growth makes it difficult for organizations to leverage the business insights needed to deliver reliable and secure digital experiences and scale their artificial intelligence and machine learning initiatives.
Sumo Logic’s log analytics platform helps organizations reduce data overload and eliminate silos between development, security and operations by centralizing, storing and analyzing business-critical data in one place. Flex licensing reduces the cost of data ingested into the Sumo Logic platform, enabling companies to leverage data across the enterprise to gain business insights without cost restrictions and leverage a single source of truth for DevSecOps initiatives.
“As data continues to grow exponentially, many log management vendors are adjusting their pricing models to accommodate this growth,” said CEO Joe Kim. “The problem is, these models are still based on the same limiting parameters: data ingest and compute limits.”
“Sumo Logic was the first to introduce a disruptive approach of linking cost to the actual value of the platform (analytics),” Kin said, adding that this enables log analytics to become “a powerful single source of truth across development, security and operations.”
As part of the Flex license, organizations will have full access to Sumo Logic’s SaaS log analytics platform, which provides complete visibility into applications and systems.
Benefits of the Flex license and platform include free log ingestion, eliminating the cost limitations associated with a pay-per-data-ingestion pricing model, freeing development, security and operations teams from having to choose which tools and data to share.
Flex Licensing offers a simple and transparent pricing model where you only pay for data storage and analytics – there are no hidden monthly fees, feature limitations, performance trade-offs, or user limits. This new pricing model also enables organizations to quickly adopt machine learning and AI capabilities to solve operational and security challenges, such as surfacing high-fidelity insights and establishing a single source of truth for developers, operations, and security teams.
Other capabilities include Unified Log Analytics for DevSecOps, enabling teams to ingest all structured, semi-structured and unstructured data and run analysis using Sumo Logic’s AI-driven log analytics platform, enabling teams to break down silos, consolidate tools and scale their DevSecOps transformation.
Flex Licensing is available immediately to new Sumo Logic customers and will be available to existing customers later this year.
