Mouser now carries the new OPTIGA Trust M MTR from Infineon Technologies, a discrete security solution that works with any MCU or SoC and provides Secure Matter compatibility for consumer electronics, smart home, drones, building automation and industrial control applications.
The solution is a CC EAL6+ (high) certified tamper-proof hardware with up to 10kB of user memory, a shielded I2C interface and four monotonically increasing counters. The solution allows OEMs to download and insert device authentication certificates at a later stage, just before production starts, without exposing the private key. This means that the product ID does not have to be pre-determined when ordering the reels or during production. This gives OEMs more flexibility in determining product variants after ordering the security chip.
The solution features a Matter-certified provisioning service that works with any MCU or SoC, making it easy to add secure Matter compatibility to existing IoT application designs. Matter is a new connectivity standard for IoT devices, with a universal software layer that serves as the foundation for connected things and their applications that are compatible with existing home protocols.
The OPTIGA Trust M MTR Shield evaluates the OPTIGA Trust M security solution. This development tool has a microBUS layout for easy prototyping on MPU and MCU platforms. The shield is compatible with the Qwiic ecosystem and is CC EAL 6+ certified. It is compact and can be combined with the PSoC 62S2 Wi-Fi BT Pioneer Kit and the OPTIGA Trust Adapter.
