Samsung Galaxy Watch7 owners may be getting a software fix that resolves the smartwatch’s worryingly short battery life. Samsung appears to be aware that its wearables are a big battery hog, and the company’s engineers may be working on developing software that will reduce battery drain.
A fix is in the works to improve battery life for the Samsung Galaxy Watch7
Smartwatch owners often wish their wearables had longer battery life, but cramming a big battery into such a small form factor is nearly impossible.
Several Samsung Galaxy Watch7 owners have been vocal about the device’s terrible battery life. Interestingly, the device is only a few weeks old, so battery life shouldn’t be deteriorating so quickly.
According to Android Authority, many Samsung Galaxy Watch7 owners are finding that their wearable device’s battery drains quickly, with users also posting similar complaints on the Samsung community forum in Korea.

Unexpectedly, a user claiming to be a Samsung representative posted a message suggesting that Samsung is aware of the poor battery life of the Galaxy Watch 7. The representative reportedly added that the company has already identified the cause of the premature battery drain.
If that’s not encouraging enough, a Samsung representative said that a software patch to fix the poor battery performance should be released soon, although of course there’s no firm timeline for when the update will be released.
How can I improve the battery performance of my Galaxy smartwatch?
It is worth noting that Samsung has not officially acknowledged the poor battery performance of the latest Galaxy Watch 7. As a result, the company has not confirmed that it will release an OTA (over-the-air) patch to fix the battery drain issue on the wearable.
Galaxy Watch 7. How long will it take before the battery goes to shit? That’s a lot less than 3 hours. Last night it was down 60% in 12 hours. The first night it completely died with power saving mode on. It’s slow progress, but is it crazy to expect more? With so little use. pic.twitter.com/kEAReabfg6

Either way, complaints about the Galaxy Watch7’s poor out-of-the-box battery life have been steadily increasing, which could lead to Samsung conducting an internal investigation to uncover any software or hardware defects that are negatively impacting battery life.
Samsung is likely to release a software patch soon, but in the meantime, smartwatch owners can take some simple precautions and change settings to improve their wearable’s battery life, such as uninstalling unnecessary apps, limiting notifications, and turning off AOD (Always On Display).
