I’m always on the lookout for apps that are helpful, useful and fun. Here are some of my current favorite apps and their features:
I always prefer cross-platform apps, i.e. apps that work on both iOS and Android. This is not always possible, so some apps are only available on iOS.

As seen on TV:
ChatGPT – Advanced AI chatbot with voice chat capabilities. Available on both Android and iOS. Subscription required for additional features. Omnivore – Cross-platform, privacy-focused read-later app. Great for organizing articles, PDFs, and more, and easy categorization. Email Me (iOS only) – A handy tool to quickly email yourself notes and links, turning your inbox into an effective to-do list. Libby – A must-have app for bookworms, giving you free access to books and audiobooks. Whisper Memos (iOS only) – An iPhone and Apple Watch app that uses AI to efficiently record and transcribe voice notes. Sunshine Contacts – Automatically update and manage your contacts’ information from your email signature. Backdrops – My go-to app for finding great wallpapers for every season. Splice – A great and easy video editing app packed with features. Perfect for Instagram Reels, TikTok videos, and other small video edits. FlyFin AI – An essential expense tracking app for freelancers. It uses AI to help identify and categorize various financial transactions that may be tax deductible. Upside – Cashback on gas and groceries. It works. The trick is to encourage your friends and family to sign up for the app to get a higher bonus return. ReelGood – A great way to keep track of movies you want to watch. Choose which streaming service you subscribe to and it will tell you when those movies included in your subscription will be available to watch. Recipe Keeper – A handy app for tracking recipes you find online. The magic is that you paste a URL and it automatically looks up the title, ingredients list, steps and generates a recipe card for you. Flighty – The best flight tracking app in the world. It automatically imports your flights and notifies you of any changes, delays, gate information, and more. Everything is displayed in the most beautiful way. Bonus: You can see your “passport” including the miles traveled, countries visited, and time spent on the plane.
It was mentioned on my radio show:
Telegram – A preferred messaging app with consistent performance across platforms. Great for family group chats. Day One – A simple, clean, cross-platform journaling app. Great for those looking to get started with journaling. Opener (iOS only) – Enhances your iOS experience by avoiding restrictive in-app browsers and opening links in the appropriate app. What3Words – A unique navigation tool that assigns a 3-word address to every 3×3 meter square around the world and shares precise location information. Artifact – A personalized news app powered by AI. It offers content similar to Instagram, but for articles, and is available on both Android and iOS. Google Photos – A reliable photo storage app with great search capabilities, cross-platform compatibility, and legacy with Picasa.
Other notable features include the free Amazon Photos app for Prime members, TouchRetouch for removing blemishes from photos, and AllTrails for exploring outdoor trails.
