Machine learning algorithms can also analyze past incidents to predict and neutralize zero-day attacks.
AI-enhanced Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) automatically adapt as new threats emerge and continuously improve their detection capabilities. These AI-driven solutions enable faster response times and more effective mitigation strategies, significantly strengthening the security posture of critical energy infrastructure.
In more deterministic environments like industrial control systems, the benefits of AI may not be as obvious. However, AI solutions can help reduce the cognitive burden on human decision makers, such as SOC analysts, by analyzing a much larger context in a much shorter time than a human could, resulting in improved human decision-making, in this example, about how to evaluate and respond to alarms.
