NEW DELHI: AI-based healthcare startup Biostate AI has announced the launch of two service offerings — Total RNA Sequencing and OmicsWeb Copilot for analysis of RNA sequencing data.
“Total RNA Sequencing uses our patent-pending Barcode Integrated Reverse Transcription (BIRT) technology to analyze any type of RNA, and another tool, OmicsWeb Copilot, helps biologists understand user requests and intent through large-scale language models (LLMs) and build customized software and scripts for data analysis,” a Biostate AI statement said.
Copilot will not only analyze unique data uploaded by users, but will also be able to use and analyze over 1,000 unique RNAseq datasets collected by the Biostate team, and will be made available completely free of charge to users and researchers from academic and non-profit organizations, he added.
David Zhang, co-founder and CEO of Biostate AI, shared his thoughts on the announcement: “Biostate AI is developing measurement technologies that help collect more biological data at lower costs, and we are excited to offer these capabilities to our partners and collaborators in academia and industry.”

Haomiao Huang, general partner at Matter Venture Partners, said: “Amid a shrinking supply of preclinical research services due to geopolitical tensions, there is a great need for affordable AI-powered CRO services now. At the same time, Biostate’s ultimate vision of predicting drug efficacy with personalized AI could revolutionize medicine and health, unlocking a new trillion-dollar market.”
“AI approaches in biotechnology could dramatically reduce the amount of animal testing that pharmaceutical and biotech companies conduct in preclinical research,” said Fred Farina, chief innovation and corporate partnerships officer at the California Institute of Technology.
