Google is gearing up to unveil its next flagship product, the Pixel 9 series, on August 13. While we’ve already seen a ton of leaks about the design and specifications, Google continues to stir things up with teasers. As the launch date draws closer, the company is leaving no stone unturned to build up anticipation and recently released a new video spotlighting the Pixel 9 Pro, giving us a glimpse of what’s to come.
Google gives you 22 reasons to buy the Pixel 9 Pro
Google’s latest Pixel 9 Pro teaser is a bit of a treasure hunt: the company lists 22 reasons to upgrade, and randomly invites you to pause the video to find reasons that might make you want to ditch your old phone — a game where every pause reveals a new reason to switch to the new Pixel.

The video lists 22 unusual “reasons” or features that you should consider buying the Pixel 9 Pro. Everything from wishing you could see more of the background in your photos, to missing recommended movies and shows, to struggling to hear voices on your phone, to dealing with concert videos that seem far away, and even toddlers not looking at the camera is addressed. It also tackles frustrations like having to rewatch a video multiple times to find an important detail. Other reasons highlighted by Google include scenarios like half of your family not facing the camera, missing important moments, wasting time on hold, and the sky not looking right. So, all of this leads to two letters: AI. Google doesn’t directly name the AI feature, but reading the description, it’s pretty clear which one they’re hinting at.
For example, Google hints at the Best Take feature when you mention “not capturing the right moment,” and suggests the Magic Eraser when “the sky isn’t right” or “there’s something in the photo.” We can also expect support for Google Photos’ unblur feature. And if the “I wish there was more scenery in the photo” comment is any indication, Google may be rolling out AI image generation tech in its new Pixel phones.
Beyond photography, Google AI could also power other features of the phone. For example, the question “I’ve been on hold for hours” could be a hint for the Hold for Me feature, while “I can barely hear the other person” could be a hint for Clear Calling. We can also expect Gemini-powered productivity features like Help me Write and Ask this video.
Google has been focusing on AI lately, so it’s only natural that the tech giant will pack cutting-edge features into its next smartphone. The Pixel 9 series is expected to launch in four models: Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
