Digital Matter, a global leader in low-power GPS and IoT hardware development, recently announced the next generation of its Dart3 and G70 GPS vehicle and equipment tracking devices, adding Bluetooth Low Energy.
The G70 BLE and Dart3 BLE build on the robust capabilities of their predecessors and enhance them with the addition of Bluetooth capabilities for comprehensive sensor and condition monitoring.
These devices provide highly accurate real-time tracking with cellular LTE-M (Cat-M1)/NB-IoT connectivity and can also be used for comprehensive driver and vehicle monitoring. Flexible input interfaces work with various devices and switches to monitor driver safety and behavior by detecting fatigue, accidents, route deviation, immobilization, overspeeding, etc.
With the addition of Bluetooth gateway technology, the G70 BLE and Dart3 BLE now support GPS tracking and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) monitoring simultaneously, providing a practical and customizable solution for businesses.
“This addition to our Bluetooth portfolio represents a significant enhancement to our asset tracking capabilities,” said Ken Everett, CEO and founder of Digital Matter. “By integrating location tracking with Bluetooth Low Energy, our partners can expand the reach and scale of their fleet management and equipment tracking solutions to ensure comprehensive monitoring and asset protection.”
In fleet management and equipment tracking, BLE capabilities allow monitoring of critical vehicle parameters such as fuel level, fuel flow, axle load gauges, tire pressure, temperature, etc. BLE also enables Driver ID, allowing drivers to seamlessly authenticate and identify themselves without the need for physical keys or ID cards.
G70 BLE and Dart3 BLE devices support a wide range of industry-standard BLE tags and sensors, enabling a versatile and customizable solution. This compatibility provides a simple plug-and-play experience, enabling seamless integration with any BLE tag on the market, allowing businesses to customize their asset tracking and monitoring system to suit their specific needs and requirements.
Data from BLE sensors can be seamlessly integrated with any end platform through flexible integration and API control, allowing businesses to easily embed Digital Matter’s solutions into their existing systems to streamline operations and enhance asset management deployments.
As Digital Matter continues to evolve its portfolio to meet the dynamic needs of its partners, the company also announced plans to extend Dart3 BLE to global coverage, enabling worldwide asset visibility and management across most of the world’s cellular networks.
“Many of our partners are looking for ‘truly global’ connectivity solutions,” Everett said.
“We are pleased to soon offer a solution that addresses these needs and enables effective fleet management and asset tracking without geographical limitations.”
