Brain.ai and Deutsche Telekom take first step towards creating an app-free world
SAN MATEO, Calif., Feb. 15, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Brain.ai (aka Brain Technologies, Inc.) and Deutsche Telekom today announced the launch of a new app-less mobile phone featuring Brain.ai’s Natural AI Interface, humanizing the way people interact with their devices.
Brain.ai is an artificial intelligence company whose mission is to make computers an extension of the human mind. Deutsche Telekom is one of the world’s leading integrated telecommunications companies.
Brain and Deutsche Telekom are making the announcement at Mobile World Congress 2024 in Barcelona, where they will jointly demonstrate the visionary AI phone. Natural AI dynamically creates interfaces on demand, eliminating the need for countless apps. Like a concierge, Natural AI takes over tasks and handles the details.

Brain and Deutsche Telekom will be announcing and demonstrating the new phones on stage at Deutsche Telekom’s booth (Hall 3, Booth 3M31) on February 26 at 11:30 a.m. CET.
Today’s software and apps operate on predefined pathways, with programmers establishing fixed connections from the user interface to back-end functionality. Without the context of these connections established by humans, today’s software cannot dynamically adjust or adapt to human needs in real time, nor can it learn from past connections to adapt to future, never-before-seen needs.
Brain.ai, in collaboration with Deutsche Telekom, is launching a paradigm-breaking AI phone with an app-free interface that predicts and generates your next interface contextually based on your thoughts.
One of the featured showcases integrated real-world use cases into Telekom’s already available T Phone. Ask the T Phone, “What can I give my sick grandma?” and it instantly creates a helpful interface tailored to your question. You’ll see options to buy directly, ranging from “A lap desk for bedridden activity” to “A pillow wedge to support your neck and head and reduce discomfort.” Curious about a product? Press any UI element to explore it further. For example, when you select “How can I use this pillow?”, a video interface unfolds next to the product details to show you how to use it in practice. This exemplifies the power of the AI Phone, generating context-aware, user-centric interfaces on demand and uniquely personalizing every interaction.
The story continues
“When we launched Natural AI in 2021 as the world’s first consumer-generated interface, we had one goal: to make computers a natural extension of our minds, so we can focus on what we want, not how we get there,” said Jerry Yu, founder and CEO of Brain.ai. “AI has been used to make technology the center of our lives, consuming too much of our time, data and attention. Together with Deutsche Telekom, we want to take a different approach. We want to use AI to do the exact opposite: put humans at the center of technology. Instead of you going to the app, the app comes to you. We want to put the power back in people’s hands.”
“Artificial intelligence and LLM will soon be an integral part of mobile devices,” said Jonathan Abrahamson, Chief Product and Digital Officer at Deutsche Telekom. “By partnering with Brain.ai, we are making our customers’ digital experience not just simpler, but more human. Our vision is a Magenta Concierge for the smartphone that’s app-free and human-centric.”
“We believe this first-of-its-kind partnership will transform the way mobile users interact with their devices, creating a faster way to get what they want, when they want it,” Yu continued. “Brain.ai and Deutsche Telekom share a vision of an app-less future. We are thrilled to partner with Deutsche Telekom, one of the world’s largest telecommunications companies, to bring this exciting vision to life.”
