Ambi Robotics has released the Ambithought B-Series, an updated version of its flagship robot with some impressive new features in 2023. With the robots deployed in more than a dozen U.S. states and running through the peak holiday season of 2022, Berkeley, Calif.-based Ambi Robotics has been able to add new features to Ambithought by leveraging the vast amount of real-world data it has collected.
The AmbiSort B Series marks the company’s entry into automated induction, middle-mile sorting and reverse logistics. The new Sort to Gaylord system can handle up to 1,200 sorts per hour. What’s more, it can be used for a variety of use cases, including reverse logistics, zone skipping and AI vision quality control, making it one of the most configurable systems available on the market today.
The new system is built around the AmbiSort bin-picking capability the company introduced with its previous A-Series robots. It includes an industrial robot, an overhead vision system and AI-driven recognition software.
All Ambi Robotics systems run on a proprietary operating system, AmbiOS, which trains robots in simulation and, with advances in Sim2Real technology, transfers advances in deep neural networks to systems in the physical world.
The company further enhanced the system by introducing AmbiAccess, a platform that comes with a set of operationally enhancing applications that increase customer convenience. This new customer portal not only provides data visibility but also provides customers with comprehensive insights and advanced analytics, leveraging historical data and trends.
Ambi Robotics’ AmbiSort B Series builds on the company’s already successful systems, offering customers even more flexibility, more functionality and a deeper understanding of their current operations.
