Enterprise network operator BroadbandOne (BB1) has expanded its infrastructure for mobile and IoT services as part of the release of rural-focused connectivity options for US businesses.
BB1 extends the infrastructure to cover the 28GHz band, Local Multipoint Distribution Service (LMDS) spectrum (ranging from 29GHz to 31GHz) and 2.5GHz frequencies, and also supports CBRS and LoRaWAN for IoT use cases.
The company said it is “aggressively expanding” its network across 19 US states, with a “focus on tier 2, tier 3 and rural markets.”
At the same time, the company today (July 30) launched BB1 BusinessConnect, a service that utilizes its “extensive” 28GHz spectrum across nine states and offers a range of benefits, including faster data rates, lower latency, greater bandwidth and increased resiliency.
BB1 CEO Eric Watko said the service will leverage “the power of mmWave licensed spectrum” through the company’s communications-as-a-service model to provide businesses with a “scalable and secure network” offering.
The company is focused on the small and medium-sized business sector across a range of industries, including manufacturing and healthcare, and says its vast spectrum holdings are key to providing a high-performance private 5G network, roaming services and IoT connectivity.
