Tesla has officially announced some of the key highlights of its upcoming summer software update, which includes several new features, app and game updates, and other improvements.
On Friday, the Tesla account shared an X article detailing the summer software update, version 2024.26. The company said the update has begun to be distributed to some employee vehicles in recent weeks and will be “rolling out shortly.” The update includes new parental control options, the relaunch of YouTube Music and Amazon Music as native apps, and several other features and improvements.
Parental controls include the option to toggle the maximum speed limit, slow down to Chill mode, and other safety features such as speed limit warning, forward collision warning, and automatic emergency braking.
With this update, the company also rolled out an updated climate menu, simplifying the overall look and replacing many of the button-like visuals with text-only icons.
The update began rolling out to employees a few weeks ago and will continue to roll out to new customers in the coming weeks.

Amazon Music and YouTube Music
Amazon Music and YouTube Music are now available as native apps.
Castle Doombad Classic and other game updates
Castle Doombad now supports touch and includes the complete original game. This release also includes the “Laboratory” updates for Polytopia Elyrion and Vampire Survivors.
Parental Control
Parents can now enable parental controls via a PIN to enforce maximum speed limits, slow acceleration to keep things cool, force-enable active safety settings, and enable curfew notifications if the car is being driven after 11pm (sorry, kids).
Improved navigation
Search results will display sub-destinations, such as specific terminals at an airport, to provide more precise route details.
Weather forecast and air quality
Tapping on the temperature will bring up a detailed forecast, and you’ll also see a poor air quality indicator in the status bar.
One-time scheduled pre-conditioning and charging
Scheduled preconditioning and charging now includes a one-time schedule option. You can also adjust the daily schedule and set the charging end time.
Ambient Light Brightness Slider
Adjust the brightness of your surrounding lighting to your liking.
Fan slows down during a call
When a call is active, the fan speed will decrease above a certain threshold to prioritize the phone audio.
Improved climate controls for the Model 3 and Y
This makes it more intuitive to use and reduces visual complexity.
